Hey! My name is Katrina

I’m  an artist and art therapist (in training) based in Tacoma, WA

Katrina Still Draws

Katrina Van Strien is an art therapist who still draws. She earned her MA in Counseling with a concentration in Art Therapy at Antioch University Seattle. Before this, Katrina nabbed a BFA in visual communication at Northwest College of Art & Design. She worked for a bit in graphic design & illustration.

She tends to illustrate Filipino things, FOOD, comics with feelings, and whatever she wants.

Katrina has worked with kids, teens, and young adults in public schools, inpatient settings, traditional and virtual offices, along with teen shelters. In whatever role she serves in, she strives to bring as much creativity as possible.

You can catch her camping out in a cute coffeeshop, flipping through picture books while sitting on the floor, laughing at comedy specials, or wandering around a local market.

What is an art therapist?

Basically, a psychotherapist who uses art as a means to help people heal. Art is an easier way to communicate for many folks.

Are you working as an art therapist now?

Kind of but not officially. Still working as a counseling/art therapy intern at Kent Youth & Family Services.

What kind of art do you make? Do you paint murals?

Heck yes I paint murals! I'm also a big fan of colored pencils, painting with gouache, & making art on my iPad.

Can you paint a mural for me?

Definitely! If you'd like a mural in your home or on your business, fill out the contact form or email me directly at katrinastilldraws [at] gmail.com
